For transactions less than two (2) calendar months from the validation date, you may choose credit card (recommended) or bank cheque refund as your refund option. To do so, you may create a refund related enquiry here after registering in this portal or contact CRC (Central Refund Counter) helpdesk at crc.helpdesk@global-taxfree.com.

  3. A written confirmation to change the refund option along with new refund option details

The following credit cards are supported: Visa, MasterCard, Diners, JCB, Amex and CUP.

In most cases, the refund amount will appear in the currency in which your credit card has been issued; for example, if you have a US credit card, it will appear in US dollars.

For credit card refunds, you will receive your refund within 10 days. Bank cheques will be issued to the residential address that you have provided within 14 days. This does not include postage time.

The detail for the refund amount appears as “Global Tax Free Pte Ltd” on your credit card statement or “Monex” for AMEX credit cards.

There may be various reasons why you have not received your refund via credit card:

  • If you have just departed Singapore, your credit card refund will be refunded within 10 days;

  • The credit card details provided by you during validation might be invalid; or

  • Your refund was not approved by Customs. Therefore, refund will not be processed.

You may still claim for your refund if you are returning to Singapore and depart from the Airport within 2 months from the date in which the eTRS transaction was issued. Please proceed to the Customs Inspection Counter upon departure and present to Customs:

  • your purchases/goods unopened and unconsumed;

  • original invoices/receipts; and

  • boarding pass/confirmed air ticket.

You may present the bank cheque to your bank and it shall be deposited into your personal bank account. Bank cheque is valid for 6 months from the date of issue. Please note there may be a processing fee imposed by the bank during cheque deposit and the Central Refund Counter not be liable for any such charges. Please check with your Bank for more details.
