Background of eTRS

As a tourist in Singapore, you can claim the Goods and Services Tax (GST) paid on your purchases at participating retail shops when you depart Singapore with your purchases via Changi International Airport or Seletar Airport. This GST refund process is known as the electronic Tourist Refund Scheme (eTRS).

Retailers can participate in the eTRS by operating as an Independent Retailer or by getting themselves affiliated with Central Refund Agencies to offer tourists a seamless and hassle-free shopping and claim experience.

With the revamped eTRS system, you will no longer receive paper eTRS tickets. Your transactions will be tied to your passport, which needs to be presented in its original form by you to the retailers.

To check if your eTRS transactions have been correctly issued by the retailers, you can access this website (https://touristrefund.sg) or the mobile app “eTRS Singapore”. Simply create an account to view your transactions and track the status of your refund.
